Did you know that doing your own probate application is not as difficult as it is made out to be?

If you are competent on Microsoft Word and can follow step by step instructions, then you should be able to undertake all of the tasks required to make the application for a grant of probate to the Supreme Court of NSW. In doing so, you are likely to save thousands of dollars on legal fees, which will result in a greater share of the inheritance going to the beneficiaries under the Will.

The average legal fees charged in probate matters are in the order of $6,500 so if you're ready to roll up your sleeves and spend some time and effort then you could save thousands of dollars.

At first glance, Probate may seem a bit daunting, lots of new words and lawyers telling you that you need them, but once you've had the process explained and all of the steps laid out in front of you, as well as being provided with all of the documents required, you'll soon realise that you can do it.
